What is Alpha?Alpha
is for: Anyone interested in finding out more about the
Christian faith. Adults of all ages are
welcome. Learning and
laughter! It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the
same time. People meeting together. An opportunity to get to
know others and to hear new points of view. Come and bring a friend along! Helping
one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised in the
talks. Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is
regarded as too simple or too hostile.
Who is
Alpha for?
- Those wanting to investigate Christianity.
- New
Christians.
- Those who feel that they never really got going as a Christian.
- Newcomers
to the church.
- Your friends that may be unlikely to attend a church service
What's
involved? The Alpha course begins at 7:15 pm on Wednesday nights
with supper followed by a talk. We then divide into smaller groups to discuss
any questions raised from the talk, finishing by 9:45pm.
The course includes
a weekend retreat tentatively 18-19 Oct. This weekend is a key part of the course
and a great help in getting to know other people better. Make plans now to attend
this very special day!
What will it cost? There
is no charge for the Introductory Dinner or for the Alpha Course (although a small
contribution is requested for the meal each Wednesday evening of the course).
The Alpha Weekend will be a weekend away and will include charges for food and
lodging (if away) - though we aim to keep all costs as low as possible!
